•At Hesketh we are well aware that homework is a vital part of all our students educations.
•Being able to complete a project not only allows your child to have ownership of their learning but also allows parents/ guardians take an active part in the their Childs education
•Here at Hesketh Fletcher we’ve now produced a great way for you child to do homework, that they have choice in, gets marked quickly and they get valued feedback in. This is the ‘KS3 Homework Project timetable’.
•The Homework plan is easy. Your child will be asked to complete only 1 project ( from a choice ) and given about 6 weeks to complete it.
•They will be awarded 2 marks for their completed projects, one mark for ‘willingness to complete’ and a second mark based on ‘National Curriculum Level Criteria’.
•To give your child the best possible opportunity to get a great homework score, they’ll get the success criteria when they get their project titles.
•We’re really excited about homework projects in school, not only does it give your child good homework but also incorporates the most modern government iniatives such as ‘Functional Skills and Pupil Learning and Thinking Skills’ and we’ve set up a homework club!
•Teachers will also be expected to mark and return homework in 2 weeks.
•The homework project marks will also be added to your child ‘ Termly Progress Downloads’- so it’s vital they do their projects and that we mark them.
•Of course we don’t want your child to do just projects, that’s why we’ve set up a project timetable which means your child will only ever do 2 homework projects per year per subject.
•If you have any questions, just contact Mr MANN at school who’ll happily answer any questions regarding the homework projects you have.
•We look forward to marking some great homework projects
