Chaplaincy Team
Chaplaincy Team 2010 to 2011
The Chaplaincy team plays an important role in the life of Hesketh Fletcher Church of England School. It contributes towards the spiritual and pastoral development of the school family and works with all who have links to the school and the wider community.
The Chaplaincy embraces many denominations and is made up of two ordained ministers and two lay workers. These are the Reverend Robert Buckley based at Saint Michael’s and All Angels parish in Howe Bridge and Adrian Bright of the New Life Christian Fellowship, and the lay workers, Yvonne Bright and Josie Carter who are based in school.
In school the Chaplaincy has input into the weekly Worship Assemblies, supports the Religious Education department in lessons where appropriate and helps to provide opportunities to experience the work of local churches in the wider community. The Chaplaincy Team is always available to help any member of the school community who needs support, advice or counselling.
The Chaplaincy also promotes events that the school contributes to throughout the Christian year such as Harvest festivals, the Atherton Nativity Walk, the annual Community Christmas Carol Service, Easter celebrations and the termly communion services held in church. In this way the school family learns about the life of Jesus and is shown opportunities to follow in his way. Each year the young people in school are encouraged to think about others by collecting foodstuff at Harvest, taking part in the Shoebox Appeal for Romanian orphans and sending comfort boxes to the troops in Afghanistan
Members of the Chaplaincy Team believe in the importance of a fully rounded education, body, mind and spirit. We aim to help young people fulfil their God given purpose in life and to reach their full potential. We love being part of the Hesketh Fletcher family and feel privileged to have the opportunity to walk alongside their life journeys.
